the whole point of having these clips is to keep the toddler's feet attached to the tricycle if he doesn't want to and you need to get home without him dragging his feet on the pavement.they don't work for our son if we tie them on top of his feet, but they work great if we tie them behind his heels.with sneakers on, the strap stays on quite well and he doesn't seem to mind it.with sandals he hates it!
but since there's nothing else out there, and you need to have the feet up, they work!
