I bought this seat cover hoping that it would relieve the strain my hard plastic bike seat was putting on my unmentionables. It works to a certain degree, the gel is soft and although the cover does move around a bit it stays reasonably centered on the seat. It's just not the huge improvement I was hoping for. Part of it could be me, I'm a slightly heavier guy and maybe my weight is causing part of the problem. What happens is, the gel in the cover is kind of thin and after few minutes of sitting on it the gel compresses. This basically negates any comfort the squishyness was giving and you're back to a hard seat again.
As far as installing, it couldn't have been easier. There is elastic and a draw string on the bottom that fits over most normal bicycle seats. You just set the cover on, pull the string tight and it stays snug pretty well. All I have to do is pull the draw string a little every now and then.
Overall, it's a decent product and I'm not sure a different kind would help any more than this one does. There is definitely an improvement over just the bicycle seat, just not as much as I would have liked.
