Wald 933 Front Mesh Quick Release Bicycle Basket (13 x 9.75 x 9, Black, 13X9.75X9) Review

I'd been searching a robust bike basket for my wife's 24" mountain bike. My criterion are:

1. should be able to carry at least 15 children books (we go to library once a week.) each book is about 12 in. * 10 in.
2. Should be abile to carry grocery (one gallon milk, 6 banana, some bread, cookies.)
3. should be able to attach/detach in one-hand (my wife carries our 3-yr daughter in the back seat.)
4. There are several bumps in our community, this basket should not pitch or loose while over these bumps.
5. Still be able to mount a front flash light in the handle bar while the basket is secured in the handle bar.

I've tested some baskets purchased in walmart, sport authority, REI, local bike store. Only this Wald basket (I purchased it via Amazon) does it all!

Wald 520 Rear Twin Bicycle Carrier Basket (13.5 x 6.25 x 11) Review

i got these baskets off craigslist but these are exactly what i have, with all the same parts.

The biggest issue for me was successfully installing the baskets onto my bike. maybe if i wasn't just a regular ol commuter but a bike tech, or superman, i'd be able to get them on. i have an 18.5" Jamis commuter. the main problem is not the "legs" that attach near the wheel, but attaching the parts at the bottom of the seatpost. it has so far been impossible because once attached, the attachment prevents the back brakes from functioning.in the process of trying to attach, i've scratched up some paint on my bike.

i went to a local bike shop and someone there thankfully devised a solution for $5. i love the baskets!

thus, while i recommend the baskets, you should know that depending on your bike, you might run into a little trouble installing

Wald 535 Rear Twin Bicycle Carrier Basket (18 x 7.5 x 12) Review

I have used these baskets every day for the past 2 years to lug my books and laptop back and forth from home to law school and have hand no problems with the baskets.They are a great size - they can hold several textbooks and a lunch bag in one side and a laptop in the other side without any problem.

My only complaint about these baskets (as I'm sure people would complain about all baskets) is that they are very heavy.I don't know how much they weigh, but I would guess it adds a good 10-15 pounds to my bicycle wihtout anything in them, which is a pain.Then again, loading the bike with books and a computer adds 10 pounds as well, so no worries overall.

Wald 3133 Q-R Bolt-On Front Handlebar Bike Basket Review

I bought this basket to go on the front of my mountain bike, which I also use to go grocery shopping and for other various errands. It fits comfortably on the front of my bike, and comes off easily for shopping and when I go riding on back trails (the basket stand is minimal and doesn't impede rough riding). I did have to remove my front reflector because the basket stand takes the space, but that was easily placed higher up on one of my handle bars.

I'm not sure why some reviewers say their baskets fall off--the handle of the basket locks it into place when down, and there are 2 hooks on the bottom of the basket holding it in place. The only way that basket is coming off is if the handle is up and the basket is lifted off the hooks. The only suggestion I have is to wrap the handle with some cloth or something--it's thin and can hurt your hands when full of heavy groceries/items. Other than that, it's a great little basket! If it works on my cheapo mountain bike, it should work on anything.
