Wald 933 Front Mesh Quick Release Bicycle Basket (13 x 9.75 x 9, Black, 13X9.75X9) Review

I'd been searching a robust bike basket for my wife's 24" mountain bike. My criterion are:

1. should be able to carry at least 15 children books (we go to library once a week.) each book is about 12 in. * 10 in.
2. Should be abile to carry grocery (one gallon milk, 6 banana, some bread, cookies.)
3. should be able to attach/detach in one-hand (my wife carries our 3-yr daughter in the back seat.)
4. There are several bumps in our community, this basket should not pitch or loose while over these bumps.
5. Still be able to mount a front flash light in the handle bar while the basket is secured in the handle bar.

I've tested some baskets purchased in walmart, sport authority, REI, local bike store. Only this Wald basket (I purchased it via Amazon) does it all!

Product Description:
Similar in size to our traditional 133 and 3133 baskets, the new 933 mesh basket provides secure transportation for the smallest cargo. An improved contoured handle provides a comfortable grip and retains the same quick-release use provided by the originals. The 933 also uses the same holder as our popular 3133 model, and is now easier to install thanks to the addition of stake nuts to the handlebar clamps.

Wald 535 Rear Twin Bicycle Carrier Basket (18 x 7.5 x 12) Review

I have used these baskets every day for the past 2 years to lug my books and laptop back and forth from home to law school and have hand no problems with the baskets. They are a great size - they can hold several textbooks and a lunch bag in one side and a laptop in the other side without any problem.

My only complaint about these baskets (as I'm sure people would complain about all baskets) is that they are very heavy.I don't know how much they weigh, but I would guess it adds a good 10-15 pounds to my bicycle wihtout anything in them, which is a pain. Then again, loading the bike with books and a computer adds 10 pounds as well, so no worries overall.

Disney Princess Basket Review

. . . bumper.

This is a cute plastic woven basket that appears to be quite durable.Attaching the basket was a little difficult simply because I wanted to leave the foam bumper thing on the handlebar (the soft thing wrapped around the top middle portion of the handlebars with characters on it -- don't know the actual name of that thing). That meant I needed to wrap the ties farther out or around the bumper; and either way, it was a stretch. If I had removed the bumper, there wouldn't have been any problem.

My daughter likes it all for looks. She doesn't put anything in it; but the bike doesn't have a kickstand, so it gets thrown on the ground a lot.Still, the basket has remained intact and it looks great.

Wald 3133 Q-R Bolt-On Front Handlebar Bike Basket Review

I bought this basket to go on the front of my mountain bike, which I also use to go grocery shopping and for other various errands. It fits comfortably on the front of my bike, and comes off easily for shopping and when I go riding on back trails (the basket stand is minimal and doesn't impede rough riding). I did have to remove my front reflector because the basket stand takes the space, but that was easily placed higher up on one of my handle bars.

I'm not sure why some reviewers say their baskets fall off--the handle of the basket locks it into place when down, and there are 2 hooks on the bottom of the basket holding it in place. The only way that basket is coming off is if the handle is up and the basket is lifted off the hooks. The only suggestion I have is to wrap the handle with some cloth or something--it's thin and can hurt your hands when full of heavy groceries/items. Other than that, it's a great little basket! If it works on my cheapo mountain bike, it should work on anything.

Product Description:
Bicycle baskets are the definition of functionality. By simply clamping a bicycle basket to your handlebar or rack, you can easily carry more stuff to and from where ever you may be pedaling.

The Wald front handlebar bike basket is ideal for carrying groceries and other smaller items. The versatile Wald 3133 front basket is no exception, with a large basket area that makes it easy to carry groceries, picnic items, and other essentials while riding. The versatile basket bolts to your front handlebar via a Wald holder. The holder offers plenty of clearance between the bar and the basket--helping it accommodate your bike's shifters, cables, and brake levers--but still holds tight to your bike.
Bike baskets also offer a number of secondary benefits. They help prevent riders from carrying items in their hands, keeping their focus where it belongs. They also help balance the excess weight appropriately, so you won't feel off kilter each time you round a corner. They can even impact your wallet by saving you money on gas when running errands. And, of course, they can contribute to your physical and mental wellbeing, as bike riding is terrific exercise and helps clear the mind.
Available in powder-coated white or gloss black, the Wald 3133 basket measures 14.5 by 9.5 by 9 inches (W x H x D).
