Kettler Kettrike Junior Tricycle Review

Kettler Kettrike Junior TricycleMy son has had this trike since last summer. It is a heavy, study bike that he rides every day. We have to keep it in the house all winter so he can ride around the house. It doesn't tip over easily (but it does tip over if my son is messing around). I put it together myself and it was pretty easy to assemble. I recommend this trike for bigger toddlers (age 2 and up) since it's pretty heavy and even at the most compact setting most kids under 2 won't be able to reach the pedals. My son is almost 3 and still doesn't pedal consistently because of the weight of the bike.

Product Description:
Let little Thomas go to town with the Kettrike Junior tricycle from Kettler. Sporting a high-carbon steel frame with a fade-resistant powder-coated polyester finish, the trike holds up to heavy use--a must for young children still learning the riding ropes. Even better, the frame offers four adjustable size settings with a telescoping frame and one-bolt release, so it can grow right along with your child (within reason, of course). And thanks to the four-position high-back seat--which is contoured to ensure an optimum posture--your child will ride in comfort. Additional details include durable MaxXtread tires and a plastic bucket in the back for hauling along toys or books. The Junior, which requires minimal assembly, is backed by a three-year residential warranty.

Classic Flyer By Kettler Low Rider Tricycle Review

Classic Flyer By Kettler Low Rider TricycleIn general this is a good, solid tricycle for a two-year-old like ours. She still isn't able to pedal even with the seat in the forward-most position, so our experience is limited to pushing and controlling the bike using the included pushbar.

Pros:
- The trike is low enough for even our small 2-year-old to get on and off by herself and just barely reach the pedals, though she hasn't mastered actually pedaling yet. The height makes falling off it that much less of a danger, though she still wears her helmet.
- The pushbar makes helping your toddler along pretty easy and is adjustable for height, but it isn't perfect (see cons below).
- The included velcro-on backpack for the pushbar is a nice bonus. Our toddler loves to hop off the bike and drop a found treasure into it. It's also a good place to keep a child's jacket or whatever you might need.
- I couldn't comment on the pedaling difficulty since my child isn't yet up to pedaling herself, but it seems to be easy enough. For now she just keeps her feet on the pedals and the front wheel turns freely, though not smoothly at all times (see cons below).

Cons:
- The core frame and pushbar are metal, but at least 50% of components are plastic -- more than I'd expected on an $80 trike.
- The pushbar itself is solid and not likely to break under normal use, but its attachment to the bike is maintained by a tiny push-in button that leaves the bar very wobbly. This allows too much side-to-side and rotational movement to let you feel truly steady controlling the bike with a child on it. It does work, but could be improved.
- I've yet to figure out how to lock the steering wheel in place or even if this is in fact possible. Other models mention it as a feature, but maybe this one doesn't offer it. It would be very useful to me with a toddler who can't seem to avoid turning the wheel to the left or right at inopportune times while I'm pushing her.
- While the freewheel feature that allows a young child to keep her feet on the pedals while being pushed does work most of the time, it has an annoying tendency to engage halfway. This causes the pedals to bounce roughly as the front wheel turns, making it more of a chore for the child to keep her feet on the pedals. Pulling the trike backwards for a few feet usually solves the problem if only temporarily.

Classic Flyer by KETTLER Euro Tricycle Review

Classic Flyer by KETTLER Euro TricycleWe purchased this tricycle for my son's 2nd birthday. I love the look of this tricyle, the bucket-like seat, and the low height, perfect for a toddler.

HOWEVER, I was severely disappointed that Kettler has no available accessories for this tricycle. The pushbar (a godsend for the back when trying to teach a toddler to pedal) is incompatible with this tricyle; nor does the safety harness attachment Kettler sells work with this tricycle. If I had to do it all over again, I would purchase a different tricycle for my son, even one of the other Kettler trikes that comes with both the attachment and pushbar. I just find it a little incredible that the company would not include such design options with all the tricycles they make, considering they do so for little kids. Especially at the price point of this particular trike.

I would recommend only purchasing this trike for a older toddler, perhaps closer to age 3 or 4, and definitely not if you live in the city, given the inability of parents to control the navigation.

Kettler Deluxe 4 Child Multiplay Swingset Review

Kettler Deluxe 4 Child Multiplay SwingsetI bought this for my 1 year old grandson. I looked everywhere for a simple sturdy swing frame that we could put a baby swing on that would last him until he's older. The other small swingsets are flimsy. I feel it's worth the price & has other things you can buy separately as the child gets older. Read description carefully. It only comes with the 2 swings, not the glider.

The swingset itself is extremely sturdy, with a high-carbon steel frame and a fade- and rust-resistant polyester powder-coated finish. And to keep children safe during play, the swingset includes tough ground anchors. The swingset measures 126 by 85 by 78.5 inches (W x H x D).

KETTLER Happy Plus Frog Tricycle Review

KETTLER Happy Plus Frog TricycleWe bought this for our daughter's first Christmas (when she was only 13-months old). She couldn't ride it or do much with it, but we bought the Kettler seatbelt separately so we'd push her around the neighborhood on it and always had a blast. Now that she's two, she loves it even more and thinks it's great to cruise around the neighborhood or park.

We rarely bring a stroller with us anywhere, since she'd much rather ride on this when we're at an outdoor event, parade, or amusement park. And she loves that she can carry her own stuff in the little bag attached to the front and there's just enough room to perch a not-huge diaper bag in the back little "dump truck" area. We still use the detachable push-pole thingy just to keep her cruising the way we want, but she rides on her own now and I imagine this will remain popular well into the future.

It's lived outside for most of the past year and it's not faded or had any damage from the elements at all. Very sturdy and made to last. I anticipate we'll still have this for baby #2 (who isn't even on the way yet!) Great investment.

The push bar makes the trike a great stroller alternative, for eager and active one-year-olds who don't like being passive passengers. The Auto-Freewheel, automatic freewheeling system allows children to rest their feet on the pedals while their parents guide them with the push bar without the pedals moving. The push bar can be removed easily as soon as your child is ready to pedal on his own.
As your child grows he or she will be able to reach and operate the pedals, first with the guidance of adult helping with the push bar, and eventually on their own. Pedaling the trike helps kids build confidence and leg strength as they explore independently. Designed to be safe for young riders the Frog Plus trike has fat tires that provide excellent traction for all terrain riding and are super stable. Kettler Go-Green Trike Without Handle Review

Kettler Go-Green Trike Without HandleI was searching for a trike for my 2 year old's birthday. After reading many reviews I finally decided on a Kettler. Their push trikes seemed to be put together more solidly than others and made of better materials. It was a bonus to find the "go-green" Kettler made of recycled materials! The day I ordered it happened to be on sale for $45! What a fantastic deal! When it arrived all that I had to do was push one button and it snapped open, ready to use. The push bar was just as simple to attach. Although we've only used it once, it seems to be very sturdy, it's very light and easy to steer... also my short 2 year old was able to reach the pedals! This was a great buy!

Kettler Flipper Child Bicycle Seat Review

Kettler Flipper Child Bicycle SeatOur son is just over 2 years old, 37 inches and about 36 lbs. It was very hard to find a bike seat that would hold his weight for now and for a while longer.

This Flipper is one of the few I could find and we decided to go with this due to the good price I got.

The bike seat was easy to assemble to the bike and the rides are great! Our son loves to go on a bike ride. He sits very comfortable and this seat will be big enough for another year or more. There is lots more to grow length wise and this seat holds up to 50 lbs! Fantastic - recommended for everyone that wants a comfortable and safe/sturdy bike seat for your precious one!
